How far along? 35 weeks, 6 days. My due date is one month from today!
Baby Size: Approximately 6 pounds and 20.5 inches.
Total weight gain: 30 pounds.
Maternity clothes? I bought two nursing tanks at Target yesterday.
Stretch marks? I'm almost out of my Burt's Bees Belly Butter so I've switched to using Cetaphil moisturizer lately.
Sleep: I've been sleeping much better this week. I'm still waking up a couple times through the night but fall right back asleep.
Best moment(s) this week: I spent a lot of time in the nursery organizing things we got at my shower last Saturday. It's been so fun to look through all of the little baby items and think about our little girl arriving soon :).
Miss Anything? Sushi.
Movement: While I was home last weekend, Baby A was kicking up a storm. My mom had her hand on my tummy and witnessed the biggest kick I've felt yet! She gets hiccups pretty frequently and seems to be most active mid-morning.
Food cravings: I'm so embarrassed to admit this. I was in Target the other day and bought a can of spaghettios! I can't remember the last time I wanted these...they were definitely not as good as I remember them being as a kid so I don't think that craving will be coming back any time soon. I've also been craving lemon italian ice from Fazoli's (which I craved early on too).
Anything making you queasy or sick: No.
Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: No.
Symptoms: I've noticed a little more fatigue this week, but other than that, nothing new.
Belly Button in or out? Totally flat and the top pokes out a bit. I think it's going to be an outie sometime before the next month is over.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Mood: As baby's due date draws near, I'm getting pretty anxious about birth again. I think our Bradley class is preparing us well, and I know I will have an excellent coach (Matt) so I am praying for confidence for myself.
Looking forward to: This weekend we're trying to cross off some to-dos, like packing the hospital bag and stocking up on some more things we need. We know it is more likely that I'll go past my due date but would like to be ready to go to the hospital sooner if need be!
What did you pack in your hospital bag that you couldn't live without??
Have a great weekend!
+, Lauren Aiken
My belly button went flat and kind of sticky-outy and the top and stayed that way. It was weird!
ReplyDeleteI didn't pack anything I wanted. I WISH I would've packed my own gown, a nice comfy robe, a nursing tank, coconut oil, and my own pillow. Also, my milk came in less than two days after she was born, so neither my bra nor my shirts fit. So a larger bra (or I guess the nursing tank would do) would've helped...
Also, just a word of advice- you may go through a natural labor completely pain-free, or at least without much pain. I know someone who did that. But if you're like a lot of us, you'll feel some incredible "pressure." Just don't feel bad if you think about wanting an epidural, c-section, instant-shot-to-the-head. Most of us think about it! I know I did, and I actually probably would have gotten one had I not been 10 cm already! But I'm also really glad I didn't end up getting one in the end. It just feels good to have bragging rights!
Anyway, you'll do great. I'm really excited for you!
Thank you for the packing tips and also for the encouragement!! Wish we lived in the same state so we could meet in real life and also have play dates!
DeleteI obviously don't have any specific advice, but I know youll do great! You're going to be such a wonderful Mommy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jodi :). Please come visit us once she's here!!
DeleteI'm so excited to see this baby girl and find out her name :) You look great, Lauren! Wish I could see you in person!!
ReplyDeleteWe still haven't picked a name! Can you believe it? We have it narrowed down to two and are most likely going to wait until she's in our arms :).
DeleteAwesome pic- you will love looking at these for years!
