A New Bracelet

Today I'm showing off my new bracelet from Jenna of Neon & Nude! You may have noticed it in the 30 week update last week.

If you're a blogger, chances are you've entered numerous giveaways on various blogs. I typically enter one or two per week, and last week I won (for the first time!) this beautiful Kelly Green Chunkster Bracelet. All of Jenna's designs are gorgeous, and I know I am planning on buying a couple things now that I know about her shop!

I eagerly awaited the arrival of this little package. Look how cute it is!

Thank you Jenna, for my bracelet and for doing the giveaway! Accessories are especially fun at this stage in pregnancy when I'm looking forward to normal stylish clothes again :).

Go check out Neon & Nude!

Happy Monday!

30 Weeks!

How far along? 30 weeks, 5 days.
Baby Size: 3+ pounds.
Total weight gain: Somewhere around 23 pounds.
Maternity clothes? Remember when I was so excited to wear maternity clothes? Well, now I'm itching for a new fall wardrobe with more than just solid tees...just a couple more months! I tried on a bunch of stuff in my closet this morning, but all my tops are either too short or too tight across the chest. I don't know how some ladies get away without buying anything maternity!
Stretch marks? I'm still applying Burt's Bees Belly Butter.
Sleep: Sleep has been great this week! I've been comfortable most nights and have fallen asleep really quickly.
Best moment(s) this week: This week was busy and good! We had visitors Monday and Tuesday, small group on Wednesday, and watched Olympics with Mackenzie and Adam and our friends Jessica and Nathan on Thursday. As far as baby moments go, my parents sent us a stroller and car seat in the mail! We also ordered a crib mattress and accidentally sent it to Seattle...oops!
Miss Anything? I can't really think of anything I'm missing this week.
Movement: I had a scare over the weekend where I couldn't remember the baby moving for a few hours. Needless to say, Matt sat with me on the couch for a couple of hours while we counted some kicks. Now she's back to moving just like usual!
Food cravings: Frozen yogurt. We had some Thursday night :).
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not a thing.
Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: No.
Symptoms: I started taking iron on a daily basis since it was just below where they like it to be. I think I may have had heartburn a couple of days, but since I've never had it before I'm not really sure. Besides, it wasn't a burning sensation...more just like pressure in my upper chest/throat.
Belly Button in or out? Still in on the bottom, flatter on the top.
Wedding rings on or off? On, and hoping I can keep them on the remainder of this pregnancy!
Mood: Super excited. Spending time with my friend Amy's little girl was so much fun. I'm so happy we're just a couple months away from baby A's birth day!
Looking forward to: Traveling to Indiana to hang out with my family while Matt is out of town for a training conference. I'm also looking forward to a hair cut! The thickness is out. of. control.

Playing with our new stroller!

I put a stuffed animal in the car seat for fun, and of course Matt snapped a picture. That bar isn't supposed to be there though; it attaches to the stroller so the car seat can sit on it.

Finally, this week I was looking back through some of my photos. I thought my baby belly was showing at 10 weeks :). Look how much can change over 10 weeks at a time! Only 10 more to go!!!
(If you missed the 10 week and 20 week updates, you can find them here and here.)

Enjoy the weekend!!

Friends

My understanding of friendship has changed a lot over the years. You know how there are those who have a million friends and then others who have just a few close friendships? I've definitely always been in that latter category. Friendships take a lot of time and intentionality, and I am generally slow to open up to others. I love my friends that I've known forever dearly and treasure all those years growing up together, changing together. But as I've gotten older, I've also realized that I don't need to know someone forever in order for them to be a close friend. Sometimes, God places people right in front of you, and you just hit it off right away.

There are friends from all stages of life that I still keep in touch with. Friends who I met the first day of Kindergarten. Friends who I spent nearly every day of the week with in Junior High. Friends who I danced with almost every day for 7 years. Friends that I've lived with, studied with, had hundreds of coffee dates with. Friends who have witnessed evidences of God's grace in my life. Friends that I haven't talked to in months but that will pick up right where we left off when we do talk. Friends who I lived in the same city for less than a year. And friends who have never lived in the same place.

I've been MIA this week, hanging out with my friend Amy and her precious little girl Ella while her husband was out of town for a conference. Amy and I met last fall in Seattle. She and her husband were there for some interviews, and Matt and I spent that weekend giving them a tour of the city and connecting far beyond what I ever would have imagined! I joke to Matt that she is my "long lost friend" since we enjoy each other so much and keep in touch after spending only 2 days together last fall. I'm so blessed by this lady the Lord put in my life! Now we live just a couple states away. I'm looking forward to more visits in the future :).

Here's a glimpse of the fun we had playing around and going to the Nashville Zoo!

Amy, I had so much fun with you and Ella the past couple of days! I can't wait for our little ones to meet!

Apart from Jesus, I am an awful friend. I forget to call. I get jealous. I forget birthdays. I'm impatient, selfish, and not totally transparent. I love imperfectly. But God forgives me, blesses me with dear friends, and has given me gifts like being a good listener and encourager! I'll leave you with a passage from Colossians that is on my heart today.

Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another, and if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:12-17
